Imagine having access to the latest trends, research, and best practices in instructional design, all in one place. That’s what our project aims to achieve. We’re building a digital garden, a website that serves as a repository of information and knowledge about instructional design in Portuguese.

Our goal is to disseminate ideas and information about instructional design, enabling educators, instructional designers, students, and researchers to enhance their skills and practices. By translating important academic publications and materials from English to Portuguese, we’re also breaking down the language barriers and increasing access to essential information.

The website is organized into categories and subcategories related to instructional design, allowing visitors to easily find the content they need. We use tags to connect related content, facilitating organic connections between ideas. Visitors can explore the digital garden non-linearly, following their interests and needs, and find reflection blocks and notation throughout the content.

To create relevant and evidence-based content, we monitor relevant sources, establish partnerships with experts and institutions, create original content, and regularly review and update content. We also promote collaboration and feedback, establish a publishing schedule, evaluate the impact of content, and invest in our own training and development.

We use tools like Hugo, Markdown, Git, GitHub/Netlify, Visual Studio Code, Google Analytics, SEO tools, Trello/Asana, Canva, Slack/Discord, and Google Docs to build and manage the site, collaborate, and monitor the impact of our work.

We believe our project will be a valuable resource for the instructional design community in Brazil, allowing professionals to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and research and enhance their practices. Join us in this journey of continuous learning and growth.

The “Leadership and Delegation” branching scenario is a strategic instructional design challenge aimed at improving delegation skills in leadership. The project underscores that delegation is not just task distribution, but a transfer of power from a higher authority to a subordinate.

The project follows a four-step process:

1. Defining Company Goals: The aim is to enhance managers’ proficiency in the delegation process and their ability to identify potential team members for promotions.
2. Identifying Necessary Actions: The project identified effective delegation as a priority task and highlighted three tension situations that led to problematic delegation scenarios.
3. Helping People Practice: An eLearning experience was created, based on real-life scenarios and informative material about the delegation process.
4. Determining Minimum Information Required: The project determined the essential information needed for effective delegation practice.

The project’s instructional design solution was developed to be accessible on both computers and mobile devices. It features a scenario-based eLearning experience where participants choose a “delegate” from three personas, each representing a different delegation challenge. Participants’ decisions lead to different outcomes, providing a realistic and engaging learning experience.

The project emphasizes the importance of user experience in instructional design, noting that the platform’s usability can significantly impact the learning outcome.

The “Instructional Design for Entrepreneurs” project is a unique instructional design initiative aimed at educating entrepreneurs and business owners about the value and implementation of instructional design in their companies. The project leverages the capabilities of Articulate Rise 360 to create an interactive and informative experience.

The project was born out of the observation that entrepreneurs often find it contradictory when instructional design professionals use traditional approaches to present their field. Therefore, the challenge was to demonstrate the differential of instructional design from the start, including in the first contact.

The project follows a process that includes:

1. Needs Analysis: The goal was to capture customers’ interest in implementing Instructional Design. The idea was to develop a level 1 learning experience that provides knowledge and understanding of instructional design.
2. Informative eLearning Production: The project chose Articulate Rise 360 for its agility in building responsive courses. The course topics were organized using Moore’s motivational sequence, designed to move the audience toward a goal or decision.
3. Interactive Elements: The project incorporated interactive elements to generate participant reflection and identification with the proposed content. The focus was on knowledge and understanding, requiring greater fluidity of content.

The project concludes with a reflection on the unique experience of creating a project that straddles the boundary between learning and content marketing. It emphasizes the power of Articulate Rise 360 as a development tool, the importance of content research, the challenge of development deadlines, and the significance of user experience in instructional design.
